The value is in the tool, not the model.

A desktop app for knowledge work. You say what you need. Unknot works out how to get it done.

Say what you need.

Under the hood

Right-sized for every job.

You send one request. The engine splits it up and hands each part to a specialist agent, tuned for that kind of work. Hard parts get the strongest models; routine parts get efficient ones. Better results, at a cost that fits the job, and you never have to choose.

2 · The engineSplits it and routes each part
3 · The specialists
  • ExploreFinds its way around your files and code
  • CodingWrites, edits and tests code
  • ResearchSearches, reads and cites sources
  • Data analysisTables, models and the numbers behind them
  • WriterDocuments, memos and decks
  • ImageCharts and images
  • ReviewChecks the work against your sources

You see it before it runs.

  1. 01Every action, previewed. Approve it once, or for the whole session.
  2. 02Auto mode. When a job turns out too complex to just start, Unknot switches to Plan mode and agrees every step with you before it builds.
  3. 03Approve for me. Switch it on and an independent model checks each request before it runs. It declines anything dangerous on its own, and only asks you about things like adding a dependency or installing software.
  4. 04Sandboxed. Task sees only what you share, and asks before stepping outside.
Project · a file edit waiting for you, with the reviewer’s note · dark theme

Unknoting things the easy way

Real deliverables, made in Task. Sample data, fictional companies.

Dashboard · cash and collections, from an AR ledger
Budget tracker · Q3 budget vs actual, exports to .xlsx
Financial model · assumptions, projections and the formulas behind them

Also in every mode.

un·knot

/ˈʌn.nɒt/ · noun
  1. 1Knot theory. The simplest knot there is: one loop with no tangles. Mathematicians study how complicated-looking knots can be reduced to it. Formally, it is also the simplest torus knot.
  2. 2A desktop app that does the same for your work. You bring the tangle; it hands back a clean loop.
  3. 3unknotting, unknotted. What the app says while it works, and when it's finished.

Soon.

Unknot isn't out yet. The Mac app for Apple Silicon comes first. Memory, audio and video are on the way.
